Heartburn is one of the most unpleasant symptoms of pregnancy. Also called acid reflux, this feels like a burning sensation in your chest mostly after eating.
Tips to manage heartburn:
1. Eat small, frequent meals.
Instead of 3 full meals, take about 5-6 small meals daily.
2. Avoid spicy and fatty food.
Fried, oily and spicy food increases heartburn.
3. Do not lie down after eating.
Sitting upright after a meal will encourage faster absorption of your food.
If heartburn still bothers you, talk to your doctor so you can be given pregnancy-safe antacids.
