
Are you worried about not gaining weight during the first trimester? You are actually not expected to gain weight at this point. In fact, losing a pound or two is perfectly normal especially with bouts of nausea and vomiting.
Since your baby will grow to the size of the lime by the end of the first trimester, he or she is still quite small to require a higher caloric intake. What you have to make sure, however, is that you take in nutrient-dense food.
For as long as your appetite permits, eat more fruits, vegetables and protein-rich food like lean meats and tofu. It is also best to keep junk food and sugary drinks to a minimum.
