During pregnancy, your body’s defenses normally go down. This is true in early pregnancy, especially in weeks 6 to 8, when most of your baby’s organs are first developing.
Even if your immune system is suppressed, there are ways to strengthen it:
Eat a healthy diet
Stock up on complex carbohydrates, leafy vegetables, fiber-rich food and
high-protein snacks to nourish your body.
Take your prenatal vitamins
To fill in nutritional gaps, take your daily supplements prescribed by your
obstetrician, especially those containing vitamin C to strengthen the immune
system.
Exercise, rest and relax
Stick to a light exercise regimen, but do not forget to rest adequately, too, as
these are proven to decrease stress and boost immunity.
