You are at week 40, and your baby is more than ready for delivery.
Your baby can come to you any time now, whether you're ready or not. Then again, you had nine months to prepare, so everything should be good by now.
If the signs of labor haven’t kicked in yet, you may do some last minute shopping for baby essentials. Better yet, make a quick run-through of all your hospital things - there may be some items you haven’t packed yet! You could use the extra walking to trigger labor, too.
Remember that when you're having 3-4 strong contractions in 10-minute increments that steadily increase in intensity and duration, while the time between each one gets shorter, you will know that labor has started. Contractions will shorten, soften and dilate the cervix. So now it is time to go to the hospital.
