Feeling out of breath at 31 weeks? At this point, the changes are overwhelming. On the positive side, you are now closer than ever to delivery.

Your uterus is now pushing your abdominal organs out of place, especially your stomach, diaphragm and lungs, which explains the shortness of breath. Even if you find this uncomfortable, your baby is happily swimming in your uterus.

Heartburn is more uncomfortable than ever at this point, too. For as long as you can still keep the food down, the least you can do is to eat small, frequent feedings while making sure you stay hydrated.

To keep your mind off these pesky pregnancy symptoms, why not start packing your maternity essentials? If you haven’t yet, now is a good time to begin. You might also want to think about your maternity leave and your company’s policy about it.
