Protecting your bump

As your belly grows, your uterus pops out of your pelvis and once your uterus starts growing out of the pelvis, your baby loses the extra protection of your hip bones.

Your body normally does a fantastic job of protecting your baby on its own. The amniotic fluid, muscles of the uterus and abdomen, abdominal fats, and backbone all serve as physical barriers that protect and insulate the baby.

However, it is still a good idea to stay careful especially when you are going out. Try to avoid any potential injuries that may affect your baby. Avoid any rides with restraints, bouncy houses, fast-moving water sliders, high dives and so on.

Concerts, malls, public transport and theatres may become very crowded at certain times. Be careful when you are in these places since people can easily push against your abdomen.
