You are 19 weeks pregnant! By now, you may have noticed so many changes in your breasts compared to the past few weeks.
Darker and more sensitive nipples.
It is normal for your areolas to take on a darker hue as blood vessels bring more
nutrients to your breasts. They may also feel very sensitive when they rub against
your clothes or while you are lying on them when asleep.
Colostrum may leak.
The first stage of breast milk, colostrum contains sugar, antibodies and protein
essential for your baby’s growth and development.
Stretch marks may start to appear.
Because breast size increases significantly during pregnancy, the skin may lose its
moisture. Stretch marks are common on the underside of the breasts where they first
develop.
The very good thing about all these breast changes is that they provide a protection against cancer because they block of the receptors for progesterone and estrogen.
