During pregnancy, you may experience nosebleeds and stuffy nose. It is happening since the pregnancy hormones cause an increase in blood flow to the tissue lining your nose.
To avoid nosebleeds, blow your nose gently, one nostril at a time. Don't pick your nose. It's very important to keep nasal passages well humidified. Get enough protein and vitamin C as they do a wonderful job in wound healing.
If nosebleed does occur, do the following:
Don’t panic.
Blood may look scary, but the bleeding should not be heavy. Try to stay away from
crowded places if nosebleed starts.
Lean forward.
By leaning forward, gravity will pull the blood out of your nose. Don’t
lean back, as this will make your nose stuffy with blood.
Use the right blow technique.
Close one nostril by using your thumb, then gently blow out the other nostril.
Simply repeat the technique with the other nostril until you are able to breathe
normally.
