Vaginal discharges: what to do?
Vaginal discharges: what to do?

Instead of your period, you will have to deal with leukorrhea or the milky-white vaginal discharge that increases as your pregnancy progresses. Don’t worry, this sign is normal and harmless.

What causes it?
Estrogen, again, is the hormone responsible for the increase in your vaginal discharge. It is usually thick with a mild odor and takes on an egg white color.

Why is there more vaginal discharge?
Along with other defensive mechanisms, this is your body’s natural way of protecting your baby from infections. Remember that microorganisms can easily enter your vagina, especially if your immune system is suppressed during pregnancy.

Can you do anything about it?
Practice good personal hygiene by changing your underwear, replacing your panty liner often, and washing your intimate areas with water only.
