Colostrum
Colostrum

As you near the end of the first trimester, you will notice that your breasts have grown bigger and more sensitive. The areolas may grow darker with bluish veins becoming more obvious.

Perhaps the most significant change in the breasts starting this week is the formation of colostrum, the first stage of breast milk. At this period, you may begin to experience leakage of colostrum. Do not worry, it is not scary!

Usually, colostrum leak is a sticky, liquid substance with a yellowish color. By the end of your pregnancy, you may see an increase in the colostrum leakage. For now just concentrate on eating healthy to make sure you produce enough milk by the time you start breastfeeding.
