Week eight is a shining moment for your baby! Although still a bit too small to feel anything, your baby is now practicing movements inside your womb. As the arms, hands, legs and feet are still developing, your baby’s limbs are stretching every now and then.
You won’t be feeling any movement until at least week 18, but it’s reassuring to know that your baby is now becoming very active, especially when you actually see it during an ultrasound scan!
Part of your baby’s very active moments is the brain’s fast development, too. As more nerve cells form and develop, expect your baby to make faster and more sudden movements!
Meanwhile, your baby’s heart is undergoing amazing development, too. At this week, it has already divided into two chambers, the right and the left. Your baby’s heartbeat is now beating up to 150 beats per minute - about twice as fast as yours!
