Some babies are born with a magnificent mane of thick hair, but this will disappear in the first six months before the growth of new hair begins. During this process, the color of new hair can be entirely different from what the baby was born with.
The hormone levels of a newborn go somewhat low immediately after birth which causes hair fall. Don’t worry - hair loss in babies is natural and cannot be prevented. It can, however, be slowed down.
If you happen to give birth this week, you may try these to slow down a newborn’s
hair fall:
- Use combs with soft bristles.
- Massage the scalp gently while bathing.
- Rub mineral oil in a minimal amount on dry areas of the scalp.
