At week 30, one significant change your baby undergoes is the loss of lanugo, or at least the start of it. Remember that all babies grow and change at their own pace, but it is usually at week 30 when the lanugo starts to disappear.
Since your baby’s brain and thicker fat layers now regulate the temperature, the basic job of lanugo is over. It is not unusual, however, to still see some traces of these very fine hairs on some parts of your baby’s body.
Lanugo will often disappear a few days or weeks upon delivery. So don’t worry if you will see some of these furry hairs on your baby’s skin - they will go away!
