Baby development at week 30
Baby development at week 30

Week 30 and your baby is rapidly growing, taking almost all of the space in your womb. Your baby gains weight so fast as the fat layers also increase. For comparison, your little human is as heavy as a bunch of bananas!

Your baby’s digestive tract is fully formed and functioning by now. Swallowing and breathing movements are almost perfected! These reflexes will help your baby adjust to the life outside the womb.

Meanwhile, the brain continues to mature and it begins to train muscles, lungs, and eyes. Most of the day, your baby keeps the eyes closed, but when the eyes are open, he or she can track light. Your baby can even playfully respond to light by moving the hands and head!

By now, your little kicker may now be in a head-first position in preparation for delivery. If presenting feet or bottom-first, don’t worry - there’s still plenty of time for your baby to turn.
