At 16 weeks, your baby is now as big as an avocado! During your fourth month of pregnancy, your baby is growing amazingly fast!

Your baby moves, turns, hiccups and kicks inside your womb. Also your sweetheart plays with the umbilical cord! Don’t worry - the most your baby can do is to grab it and let it go.

Your baby’s taste buds are formed by now. The skeleton is also developing into bones, which will be clearly seen during an ultrasound scan. Some of the more advanced body systems are working now, too, including the circulatory and urinary systems.

Perhaps the most fascinating milestone this week is that your baby can hear your voice and can recognize it at birth. So try to communicate with your child, and let daddy talk to your baby, too! You can also play a song to your baby at this point, and you will be surprised that your baby will also recognize it at birth!
