At 15 weeks your baby is the size of an apple. It’s enough to fit in the palm of your hand. Your baby has grown quickly, and expect even more growth in the coming weeks.
You would be amazed to know that as early as 15 weeks, your baby is able to sense light now. The eyes remain closed for a few more months, but as soon as they open, they will learn to blink!
Moreover, your baby now knows how to hiccup. You can’t obviously hear or feel this yet, as your baby swims in an environment full of amniotic fluid.
As for the fingernails, they are now fully formed. The legs have grown longer than the arms, and your baby will be even more active.
As you go further along your pregnancy, the external genitals may be developed enough, which can be seen on ultrasound at this week. Depending on your baby’s position and the quality of the ultrasound machine, you might be able to determine if you’re having a boy or a girl!
