Baby’s bones
Baby’s bones

Week 10 with your baby’s growing bones? It sounds impossible, but it’s happening! The bones of a fetus are actually just some of the fastest growing anatomical structures while still inside the womb.

Remember that an adult human body has 206 bones, so a lot of time is needed to grow these structures. At week 10, as your baby takes on a more human-like appearance, the cartilage, joints and bones are developing.

Your baby’s elbows can now flex (though you won’t feel it just yet), and very tiny indentations are now forming, which will eventually grow into knees and ankles. As weeks pass, these bones will become stronger and can be seen on a routine ultrasound!
