Bottle sterilizer
Bottle sterilizer

Cleanliness is a must for bottle feeding, as the baby is quite prone to catching infections. Milk bottles, when not sterilized properly, are a favorite breeding ground of disease-causing microorganisms.

A bottle sterilizer is an equipment that kills harmful microorganisms in your baby’s milk bottles. There are so many kinds out there - which one should you choose for your little one?

Cold water sterilizer
This type of sterilizer requires a reusable sterilizing liquid or tablets. Milk bottles are soaked in the solution for half an hour, and will remain sterile for up to 24 hours if the lid is closed.

Microwave sterilizer
Utilizing only the heat from the steam, a microwave sterilizer can sterilize milk bottles (but no metal accessories!) for up to 24 hours depending on what model you purchase. Sterilizing only takes about three to eight minutes.

Electric steam sterilizers
More convenient than the cold water and microwave sterilizers, this type is simply plug-and-use. Electric steam kills the microorganisms and takes a maximum of 15 minutes. It is capable of sterilizing milk bottles for up to 24 hours.

UV sterilizer
Dubbed as a new player in the field of bottle sterilizers, this utilizes safe UV heat to kill microorganisms. Sterilizing can take more than 10 minutes. This type is usually sold in compact sizes, and is therefore lightweight and portable.
